PROJECTS EXECUTION: LG Commissioner Commends Ekiti Council Chairman

The Management Team of Ekiti Local Government Council of Kwara State has been commended for acceding to the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the area in projects location and execution.  The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Arc. Aliyu Muhammad Saifuddeen made the commendation at the official Commissioning ceremony of some new projects embarked upon by the Council.  The projects include a block of office accommodation at the Council Secretariat for Staff use and other completed projects by the Chairman of Ekiti Local Government within the short period of his appointment. 

The Press Secretary of the Ministry, Oba Azeez in a press statement on behalf of the Commissioner,  disclosed that he was very elated with the large turn out of people to identify with the success stories of the Council.  Arc. Saifuddeen attributed the Council's success story to the leadership style of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's non interference of the State Government or any of its apparatus in the administration of local government system.  It would be recalled that the Commissioner had earlier said the Ministry would initiate awards for the best Three Local Governments, who had performed outstandingly well based on the template for evaluation which ranges from projects execution and acceptability by the benefitting Communities.  According to him, the Ministry will visit all the 16 Council Areas to conduct on-the-spot assessment of projects done and most especially the impacts it will have on the benefitting Communities. 

The Commissioner had earlier paid a courtesy visit to the Olosi of Osi, Oba Saliu Adasofegbe Arowobeku ll to brief him on the mission of his visit and solicits his Royal blessing.  Arc. Saifuddeen thanked the Monarch for the relative peace in the Council as well as the support he has given to the present adminstration in the execution of laudable programmes and policies.  Responding, Oba Arowobeku expressed happiness over the numerous projects the State Government had executed in the Council especially the reconstruction of Osi main road, Ejiu-Ora bridge, Isapa bridge, among others.  Earlier in his welcome address, the Council Chairman, Hon. Kehinde Bayode congratulated Governor AbdulRazaq for his giant stride in the provision of dividends of democracy, especially the impacts of his administration in Ekiti Local Government Council.  He also thanked the Commissioner for finding time to commission the newly constructed block of office accommodation despite his tight schedule.
