Kwara Civil Service Commission Explains Delay In Recruitment Process

The Kwara State Civil Service Commission wishes to inform applicants for the vacancies recently advertised in the civil service that the process is still ongoing but it is being implemented in manageable batches.  This approach follows the recent implementation of the minimum wage for all categories of workers and its huge financial implications for the state. The government is also not unmindful of the sharp drop in revenue.   Regardless, the list of successful applicants has formed a database of quality hands from which the CSC will continue to inject new hands into the service.   As of today, only 65 successful applicants have been injected into the system to fill vacancies in very critical areas. Such engagement of the qualified applicants from the pool will continue in batches as revenue permits.    While the government, working in sync with the private sector, is always enthusiastic about mopping up as much of our energetic young people as possible from the labour market, it will not be fair to hire new workers and then fail to pay them as and when due.
